Out with the old and in with the new

Bateman Groundworks management team at the JCB factory

April 18, 2018

Recently our management team visited the JCB factory in Staffordshire to see our new machines on the production line.

We have replaced our 2012 fleet of JCB 3CX Backhoe Wheeled Diggers with five new 2018 models.

Richard Bateman, Executive Chairman, Jason Ramsey, Managing Director, Lewis Nicholas, Production Director, and David Lefevre, Finance Director, travelled to the JCB factory by helicopter organised by JCB for a tour.

They watched new diggers under construction and saw the first JCB dumpers come off the production line.

Jason Ramsey said: “We are very fortunate to be given the opportunity to visit the JCB factory to see our new machines pass through the production line. These new machines offer greater fuel efficiency, combined with lower carbon emissions without compromise of performance.

“Reinvestment in the new plant and equipment is essential to meet current and future safety standards along with reliable operation. We were also given the opportunity to witness the first of JCB’s dumpers being made and to witness the first seven come off the production line.”

“It was great to see JCB’s quality control throughout the manufacturing process. It’s an incredibly inspiring and fantastic place, brand and employer, which really look after their 3000 employees on site.”
