New Contract underway with Hopkins Homes, Kingsfleet, Thetford.

On September 17th a Bateman team headed up by Site Manager Mark Kerridge and Foremen, Kirk Brown and Wayne Curran started construction of the first phase of the Thetford North Strategic Urban Extension (SUE) scheme, better known as Kingsfleet, on behalf of renowned house builder Hopkins Homes.
Steeped in history and brimming with natural beauty, Thetford is a traditional English market town, with 50,000 acres of Thetford Forest nearby making it a well-loved family destination. Sitting on the A11, the Kingsfleet development offers fantastic connections to Norwich and Cambridge. The vision for Kingsfleet is to create a thriving, sustainable community.
Kingsfleet is a large ‘gateway’ development for Hopkins Homes and the first Bateman Groundworks civils contract with the developer.
The first phase of this development will include 292 new properties offering a mix of one and two-bed flats and two, three, four and five-bed houses across a wide range of designs and styles as well as 51 affordable homes. The marketing suite will open in Spring 2019 with the first homes available for early reservation.
Mark Kerridge, Site Manager, Bateman Groundworks said “The team are making great progress, the topsoil strip of the entire site is complete, attenuation tanks and lagoons are installed, and we’re now starting the adoptable drainage, roads and sewers. By the end of this month, we will have poured just under 2000mз of concrete for the foundations of 71 plots ready for Hopkins Homes to commence the build.
“The whole team is working hard and putting in the maximum effort; it’s an excellent project to be a part of and we’re all looking forward to watching this new neighbourhood for Thetford come to life.”
